The creative process starts in our heads rather than on paper or on the Mac. We have to think about your industry, your customers, your competitors; where you are now, what your goals are; what’s the most important thing(s) to communicate; and then we have to work out how all that should look and feel in order to have the most impact on your target audience. That whole process is all aided with many boosts of caffeine by the way!
Many of us have bought a product just because it looks nice - maybe the wine label was nicely designed, or the book cover jumped out at you. People perceive attractive things as being better (even if they’re not!). And so, in a competitive world where other companies are offering the same product or service as you, good graphic design gives your company the opportunity to stand apart and be noticed.
